Description Mitas Terra Force-EX HT XT-454
The Mitas Terra Force-EX HT XT-454 motorcycle tyre is designed for enduro and dual-purpose motorcycles used primarily off-road. Its construction combines tall, widely spaced tread blocks, a reinforced casing, and the option to install tyre studs. The model is intended for challenging terrain with hard ground and obstacles, while the ICE version with a white stripe enables the benefits of a special rubber compound in low-temperature conditions.
Large tread blocks
The tyre tread consists of individual tall blocks with broad contact edges. Their lateral edges transmit driving and braking forces, while elements positioned at the shoulders engage when the motorcycle leans. The wide spacing between blocks provides room for ejecting soil and mud. This tread geometry helps maintain pronounced gripping edges when transitioning from firm to loose terrain.
Reinforced construction for difficult terrain
The Terra Force-EX HT features a thicker, reinforced casing designed to resist punctures. It supports the tall tread blocks under loads encountered on rocky and stiff surfaces. The broad base of the tread blocks complements this structure: forces are transmitted through robust tread elements, which is essential when overcoming obstacles and riding on uneven surfaces.
ICE version and stud preparation
The ICE version features a white stripe and a rubber compound that retains elasticity at negative temperatures. The manufacturer specifies its operational temperature down to -10 °C. The tread lugs have molded recesses designed to accommodate tyre studs, including screw-in studs. This allows the tyre to be prepared for winter off-road disciplines; however, the presence of stud seating positions does not mean the tyre is supplied pre-studded.
