The Mitas C-20 motorcycle tire is designed for installation on the rear wheels of motocross motorcycles operating on medium and high hardness coatings. Another feature of this model is that it must be used in conjunction with the C-19, which is installed on the front wheels. It is also worth noting that this tire was specifically designed for participation in professional motocross competitions.
Ability to use on regular roads
One of the most notable features of this model is the presence of DOT and EN certificates, which allows it to be used on regular roads. This was achieved through the use of several technical solutions. First and foremost, it is the structure of the tread pattern, which consists of many separate blocks of various shapes and sizes. They are arranged in a checkerboard pattern, which allowed to reduce the rolling resistance, as well as the level of resonant noise and vibration, to an acceptable level.
Excellent traction and adhesion properties in the longitudinal direction
The symmetrical tread pattern of the Mitas C-20 tire is divided into several functional zones - two shoulder areas and one central part. The latter contains many quadrangular blocks, each pair of which forms a transverse rib with a very extended edge. At the same time, they have a concave shape, which allows to additionally increase the traction and adhesion properties in the longitudinal direction, especially on sandy and soil surfaces.
Excellent stability in turns
In contrast to the central part, the shoulder zones of the tread contain trapezoidal blocks, which form two longitudinal rows, where the elements are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. In combination with the large curvature of the tread profile, this design allows the tire to demonstrate excellent stability even at significant motorcycle lean angles, especially on soil and sandy surfaces.
