Description Michelin Starcross 5 hard
The Michelin Starcross 5 hard tire is designed for motocross motorcycles used on hard ground surfaces. Compared to its predecessor, the model has changed significantly. And not only due to the updated design of the tread pattern, but also due to the construction of the carcass. This made it possible to significantly improve most of the tire's operational properties.
Reduced weight
The previous model had a carcass made of 3-layer nylon cord. The construction of this tire is based on polyethylene. The 2-layer cord is made from this material. At the same time, the density of the fiber arrangement is significantly higher, which made it possible to improve resistance to aggressive mechanical stress. As a result, the tire weighs 10% less than the previous model with identical strength and reliability indicators.
Tread pattern
The tread pattern design for the front and rear tires is significantly different. The front wheel tread contains many closely spaced small blocks. This significantly improves directional stability and braking properties, regardless of road surface characteristics. In turn, the rear tire is equipped with an original tread. The blocks that form it are arranged in such a way that when they come into contact with the road, they form very extended transverse grip edges. Together with the significant height of the tread elements, this guarantees excellent traction properties in any conditions.
