Only a few summer scooter tires have been developed based on models designed for powerful sportbikes. One of the representatives of this rare category is the Michelin Pilot Sport SC Radial. It differs from the regular Pilot Sport Radial only by the absence of the SC abbreviation, which stands for scooter. This means that during its development, technologies borrowed from racing tires used in the MotoGP championship were applied.

However, since the Michelin Pilot Sport SC Radial model is designed for everyday use, the main attention was paid to finding the optimal balance between sporty handling and high comfort. It was found with the help of automated computer modeling tools, which made it possible to avoid millions of kilometers of real-world testing.

One of the distinctive features of this tire is the tread pattern, which consists of many massive blocks that stretch from the center to the sidewalls. Such massive sizes have made them very rigid, which has given the tire the ability to respond almost instantaneously to steering inputs. This feature has made the sporty handling very precise, which has greatly simplified the process of managing the scooter.
At the same time, the traction properties remain at a constant level regardless of the driving conditions and the angle of inclination of the scooter. This was achieved due to the carefully calculated tire profile, which remains unchanged in any conditions. This allows you to pass turns in a very aggressive style without fear of sudden loss of control over the scooter.
Excellent grip on wet surfaces
The excellent traction properties of this model on wet roads are primarily due to the rubber compound, or rather its composition, which was selected from approximately the same components as the tires used in MotoGP. It is characterized by a high silica content, which provides the tread with increased elasticity even at low temperatures, while giving it excellent resistance to abrasive wear.
