Description Michelin Pilot Power 2CT
The goal of creating the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tire was to produce a motorcycle tire for use on sportbikes in urban mode and during track racing. Initially, the 2CT technology was used to create tires for Moto GP racing using the know-how gained from the creation of previous Pilot Power models.
Tread Pattern
This model uses a traditional Pilot Power tread pattern. Directed, it provides the possibility of achieving perfect traction with the track surface, thereby improving the bike's handling.
Dual-Compound Tread
The surface of the tires of this model consists of rubber of two different types, which ensures improved traction of motorcycles with dry pavement (especially asphalt), and also makes it possible to pass turns at maximum speed at large angles of inclination. These Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires provide the possibility of passing turns at angles of up to 50 degrees. In addition, the components are selected to improve the handling of the vehicle, give it the ability to accelerate faster and shorten the braking distance, both on wet and dry roads.
Increased Service Life
In order to increase the service life of the tire, the edges of the tire use rubber that is 20% softer in terms of physical properties than the rubber used in the central part. This made it possible to achieve uniform wear of the tire and significantly extend its lifespan.
Main Features of the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Tire
- high efficiency on tracks and public roads;
- the presence of soft rubber on the sides improved the wear resistance of the tires and provided unique opportunities for passing turns;
- the development used technologies from Moto GP engineers involved in the creation of racing tires;
- phenomenal handling and reaction of the vehicle during acceleration and braking on wet and dry roads.
