The Metzeler Tourance Exp motorcycle tire is a modification of another well-known model, designed exclusively for the heaviest representatives of urban "enduro". This tire was designed not only for operation on urban streets, but also for frequent departures from roads with solid coverage.
The fact that the Metzeler Tourance Exp tire is designed for the most powerful and heavy motorcycles of the so-called "urban enduro" category is unambiguously hinted at by the size range offered by the German manufacturer.
In order for the tire to be able to withstand the weight of the motorcycle without any problems, a number of technologies were used in the design of its carcass, which significantly improved all its basic operational characteristics. First of all, it is worth noting the 0 Steel Radial technology, which involves the use of a steel metal cord, the threads of which are wound parallel to the direction of movement, i.e. longitudinally. Compared to the traditional textile cord for motorcycle tires, the steel frame gave the tire not only significantly greater strength and resistance to punctures and cuts, but also noticeably reduced its weight. At the same time, the winding of the steel threads was carried out using a different technology of the MAW company - Metzeller Advanced Window. Its appearance was due to the desire of German tire makers to provide certain parts of the tread with optimal stiffness. This was done using a different density of winding of the steel threads of the cord. As a result, it was possible to achieve an ideal balance between the level of comfort and handling characteristics.
Main features of Metzeler Tourance Exp
- A special composition of the rubber mixture provides excellent performance in any road conditions, while reducing the time it takes for the tire to heat up to working temperature;
- The innovative design of the carcass with a longitudinally wound steel cord made it possible to achieve excellent resistance to deformation and any aggressive influence, and also significantly reduced the weight of the tire;
- The different density of the winding of the steel threads of the cord made it possible to provide a soft and comfortable ride without compromising handling and stability when cornering.
- The aggressive design of the tread pattern allows for fast and safe movement on the highway, as well as confident movement off paved roads.
