The Metzeler Racetec Wet motorcycle tire is designed for use exclusively on racing tracks. At the same time, the sizes offered by this German manufacturer allow this model to be installed on motorcycles of any category. The key feature of this tire is its ideal suitability for wet and damp conditions of a drying track, i.e. this model is equipped with a tread with a so-called "intermediate" tread pattern.
At the same time, the tread pattern of the Metzeler Racetec Wet tires for the front and rear axles differs in the number of central ribs. The tire designed for installation on the front axle is equipped with a tread with one central rib, and for the rear axle, two longitudinal ribs are provided. The number of longitudinal drainage channels also differs in the same way. However, regardless of the version, the drainage system is supplemented by a large number of transverse channels, the curved shape of which contributes to an increase in the speed of water removal from the contact patch.

Main features of the Metzeler Racetec Wet motorcycle tire
- The 0° Steel Radial technology allowed abandoning the textile cord in favor of a steel one, which not only provided the tire with excellent resistance to dynamic deformations but also significantly reduced its weight, increasing its strength at the same time. In addition, the longitudinal arrangement of the steel cord threads provides a more even distribution of external weight and also contributes to a reduction in rolling resistance. In combination with a rubber compound that heats up quickly and remains stable when overheated, this made it possible to give the tire excellent durability, which means reducing the number of pit stops during the race;
- The Metzeler Advanced Technology involves a special method of winding steel threads, which makes it possible to increase the density of their arrangement in those areas of the tread that require the greatest stiffness;
- With the help of the Multiple Radius Contour technology, it is possible to maintain optimal contact patch sizes at any motorcycle lean angle. This happens due to the use of a profile with a variable slope;
- The combination of a proven rain tread pattern and a rubber compound with an increased content of silicon-containing elements makes it possible to ensure optimal contact with wet and damp road surfaces.
