The Metzeler MC5 motocross tire is another development from Metzeler, designed for professional motocross competitions. This model continues the development of the sports theme in the Metzeler concept, where the main emphasis is on optimizing dynamic and operational characteristics, taking into account the specifics of sports competitions.
The "MC5" model is designed for medium-hardness tracks. At the same time, the developers paid maximum attention to safety and handling, especially in terms of high-speed driving on inclined surfaces, overcoming turns, passing muddy sections of the track, emergency braking, etc.
The pattern and height of the tread on the front and rear tires differ. The tread of the front Metzeler MC5 tire consists of numerous blocks, providing a multi-point contact with the track surface. This achieves high stability and ease of steering, regardless of the curvature of the landscape.
The wider central blocks of the rear tire's tread optimize the high-speed dynamic characteristics, create a dense contact with the surface, and thus provide the necessary power characteristics of sports motorcycles. These indicators depend on the force of the "start" at the start, acceleration when exiting turns, as well as ensuring high efficiency of emergency braking.
The angled side blocks of the tread (on both the rear and front tires) provide directional stability when driving at high speeds on inclined sections of the track.
The front tire is available in one size, 80/100-21M/C 51R MC5F.
The rear tires of the "MC5" model are produced in 5 sizes:
- 100/90-19NHS MC5;
- 110/90-19NHS MC5;
- 100/100-18NHS MC5;
- 110/100-18NHS MC5;
- 120/100-18NHS MC5.
According to the speed index, the model belongs to category "V" (max. 240 km/h).
