Having barely appeared on sale, the Maxxis Supermaxxi M6029 motorcycle tire for sportbikes has become a headache for leading tire manufacturers. The Asian company managed to create a very successful model that, with its attractive cost, had excellent operational properties. This was achieved thanks to several years of development and the use of advanced technologies and materials in the design of this tire. It is also worth noting that its final refinement was carried out on European roads, taking into account the requirements of local sportbike owners.
Refined handling and excellent stability in any conditions
One of the results of the work on virtual prototypes is the profile pattern of the tread. It provided the contact patch not only with maximum size but also with a number of other properties. First of all, this is the invariability of its geometric parameters even at significant motorcycle tilt angles. This applies equally to both modifications of this model (for the front and rear wheels). In real operating conditions, this design feature manifests itself in the form of very stable traction properties and predictable reactions to the biker's actions.
Reinforced design and minimal weight of the Maxxis Supermaxxi M6029 carcass
One of the distinctive features of this model is that its design widely applies solutions previously used in racing tires. One of them is the carcass, which combines very high rigidity and low weight. This was achieved through the use of very expensive materials in its design. In particular, its breaker layer is made of Kevlar cord. Advanced winding technologies were used, which made it possible to arrange the Kevlar threads almost parallel to the direction of movement with very high density without any seams or joints.
The ultimate result of such technical tricks was a significant improvement in a number of operational properties. First of all, these are very fast and accurate reactions of the tire to the biker's actions, as well as exceptional stability when moving at the highest speed. In addition, the very rigid and lightweight carcass of this model contributes to the reduction of heat generation and rolling resistance.
High-performance tread pattern on wet roads
When developing the tread pattern of this model, the main attention was paid not to giving it an impressive appearance but to achieving the highest operational characteristics, primarily on wet roads. That's why it contains a fairly small number of drainage grooves, but with a very significant internal volume. In addition, their high performance is ensured by the curved shape, which expands as it approaches the tire sidewalls. Such design features make it possible to avoid the occurrence of vortices in water flows, which, in turn, significantly increases the throughput of the drainage grooves and, along with it, the resistance to aquaplaning.
