The Heidenau K61 Racer Scooter motorcycle tire is designed for scooter owners who prefer an aggressive driving style. This is exactly what the manufacturer had in mind when including the word "Racer", which translates to "racer", in the name of this model. At the same time, they particularly emphasize that this model is not a racing tire, although it looks like one.
Initially, the tread pattern for this tire was created with the goal of providing excellent performance and a high level of comfort when moving at high speeds. That's why the tread design can be described as memorable, as a similar pattern could previously be seen on real racing tires.
The key feature of the tread is its profile. The specialists of this German company carefully selected the profile curvature to achieve perfect grip under any conditions. As a result, they were able to obtain a tread with a contact patch area that remains unchanged at any lean angle of the scooter. Largely due to this, the Heidenau K61 tire demonstrates excellent grip even when cornering very aggressively, while providing excellent handling transparency.
Depending on the size, the manufacturer offers this tire in two versions, which differ mainly in the presence of a longitudinal drainage groove in the center of the tread. Otherwise, the water drainage system for all sizes is practically identical. Its characteristic feature is the elliptical shape of the drainage channels. This shape was chosen not by chance, as it reduces the likelihood of vortices forming in the water flow, which increases the speed of water passing through these channels. As a result, excess moisture leaves the contact patch much faster, which significantly increases the resistance to aquaplaning.
