The Heidenau K31 Vintage Motorcycle tire is another bright representative of a whole family of models that differ in their external design, made in the spirit of classic tires from the end of the last century. At the same time, the classic design did not become a serious obstacle to the use of modern technologies. As a result, a tire was obtained that is ideal for installation on classic motorcycles of past decades, but at the same time meets modern safety requirements.
According to the classification of this German manufacturer, this model is designed for operation on motorcycles with an engine capacity of no more than 400 "cubes". This is not surprising, given that the Heidenau K31 tire is equipped with a tread pattern that is characteristic of road models of the second half of the last century and therefore cannot provide the necessary safety when installed on more powerful motorcycles. But in all other respects, it fully meets all modern requirements.
The tire tread is distinguished by a profile that, due to its rounded shape, retains a large contact patch size even at significant lean angles. This allows for fairly sharp maneuvers with a minimal risk of tire skidding. A significant role in this is played by the original design of the shoulder zones of the tread, each of which consists of two rows of rectangular blocks. Each of these tread elements is connected to each other by special reinforcing ribs, which made it possible to significantly increase the stiffness of this part of the tread. Similarly, i.e. by means of special reinforcements, but of a smaller cross-section, all tread elements are connected to each other, which makes it possible to provide excellent resistance to dynamic deformation that occurs during movement.
Main features of the Heidenau K31 Vintage motorcycle tire
- The combination of a classic road tire tread pattern from the second half of the last century and modern technologies provides excellent operational qualities;
- The design of the tread pattern is specially adapted for classic motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 400 "cubes";
- Two rigid longitudinal ribs, located in the central part of the tread, provide excellent directional stability and fuel efficiency;
- Excellent stability and reliability when cornering due to the original design of the shoulder zones of the tread, which have high structural stiffness.
