One of the characteristic features of this model is the use of different tread patterns for the front and rear wheels. The drainage grooves are not only arranged differently, but also have modified shapes and sizes. This solution made it possible to significantly improve handling and make it comfortable for the driver.
Another important innovation was the appearance of iGT drainage grooves. The essence of this technology is to direct the movement of water, which is diverted from the center of the tread to the sides of the tire. This is ensured by the special shape of the drainage grooves. They are curved and expand as they move away from the center of the tread.
This model was one of the first to use the latest version of the MultiTread compound. It is characterized by the presence of special tri-polymer connections. With their help, it was possible to significantly increase the wear resistance of the tread - by about 10% compared to the previous model. In addition, this rubber mixture is characterized by an even higher silica content.
