Description Continental K 62
The Continental K 62 summer tire features a retro design. The production of this model used advanced technologies and modern materials, which gives the tire excellent operating characteristics. The latest quality control systems have minimized the possibility of defective batches entering the market.
Tread design
The tread pattern was created using computer modeling, which allowed for optimal block placement across the entire tread surface. To improve stability during straight-line driving and provide quick feedback, a new central tread structure was used.
The central part of the Continental K62 tire consists of two rows of blocks with different directions. This unusual solution allowed for excellent driving qualities. Deep channels between the blocks helped to accelerate water removal from the contact zone, reducing the likelihood of aquaplaning. The sidewall area has a large number of protrusions and depressions that provide confident handling during any maneuvers and protect the tire from possible punctures and damage.
New rubber compound composition
The creation of the rubber compound used a large number of new additives. The increased silica content improved the elasticity of the tread, providing the tire with excellent traction characteristics on wet road surfaces. To improve the wear resistance of the tread, silicon was used, which gives the tire an increased mileage. The new rubber compound, combined with the optimal block arrangement, contributed to an increase in the contact patch, which positively affected stability and handling.
Main features of the Continental K62 motorcycle tire
- increased traction on wet road surfaces was achieved through the use of a new rubber compound;
- a long lifetime of the tread is ensured by the increased tread depth and the high silicon content in the rubber compound;
- an increased contact patch was achieved as a result of the optimal block arrangement and the increased elasticity of the tread;
- excellent stability during maneuvers is provided by the new shoulder area design;
- reliable protection against damage and punctures is achieved through the use of a reinforced carcass.
