Description Continental CST17
The three-letter abbreviation in the name of the Continental CST17 passenger tire means ContiSpareTyre. This model is nothing but a familiar "doughnut" to almost all car owners, i.e. a tire for replacing a standard tire that has failed for some reason. It differs from it in the width of the tread. It is significantly narrower, which simplifies the process of storage and transportation.
Tread with triangular blocks
The tire is equipped with a tread with a symmetrical non-directional design. Its characteristic feature is the presence of a large number of triangular blocks. It gives them additional resistance to deformation from the impact of lateral acceleration forces. As a result, the tire demonstrates stable behavior throughout the speed range for which it is designed, i.e. up to 80 km/h.
Low noise level
Another distinctive feature of the tire is a high level of acoustic comfort. It is largely achieved by the arrangement of blocks in a checkerboard pattern. In combination with their triangular shape, which provides an inclination of the edges formed by them, this significantly minimizes the risk of noise and vibration.
Reinforced sidewalls
Being a so-called "doughnut", the tire has an extremely narrow tread. To increase the carrying capacity, its sidewalls were significantly reinforced with a steel cord. It is a very strong and wide tape that provides the sidewalls with an optimal shape in terms of reliability and soft ride.
