Description Bridgestone Exedra G702
The summer motorcycle tire Bridgestone Exedra G702 has a rather specific scope of application. Like the rest of the Exedra line, it is designed for use on large touring bikes, and as a representative of the 700 series, it is designed for installation on motorcycles made in the "American style". Under this term, the Japanese tire giant means not only Harley-Davidson and Indian bikes, but also numerous customs made in a similar style.
Excellent handling at high speeds
Despite the fact that bikes in the "American style" are mostly intended for cruising, most of them are equipped with very powerful engines, often equipped with turbocharging. These, as well as many other features, were taken into account by Japanese tire manufacturers when developing this tire, which is offered in two versions - for the front or rear wheel.
The main difference between the Bridgestone Exedra G702 tire, designed for installation on the front wheel, is the presence of a longitudinal groove in the central part, which performs several functions at once. First of all, this is ensuring high resistance to aquaplaning, which is achieved by actively accumulating excess water, which is removed from the contact patch.
Another important task of this tread element is to divide the contact patch into two parts. On the one hand, this made it possible to significantly improve the directional stability, and on the other hand, to ensure maximum contact patch sizes at various angles of motorcycle inclination.
Excellent stability in turns
Today, all Bridgestone tires are developed using computer modeling tools, which ensures one of the characteristic features of this Japanese manufacturer's tire products - a nearly perfect balance between working characteristics. From this point of view, this model is no exception, as its development used computerized equipment to select the optimal profile radius, at which the contact patch area will be maximally large even at significant angles of motorcycle inclination, as a result of which it remains stable even at extreme angles of attack.
Key features of the Bridgestone Exedra G702
- the tire is specifically designed for large "cruisers" made in the American style;
- excellent directional stability, both when driving in a straight line and when turning, thanks to a special longitudinal groove that divides the contact patch into two equal parts;
- large contact patch sizes, which, thanks to the optimal profile radius, maintain their size at the initial level, provide the tire with excellent grip even when maneuvering sharply.
