New tread design
A lot of time was spent developing the tread. A computer modeling method was used for this purpose. As a result, it was possible to obtain a tread that has optimally located blocks, providing the Yatai A168 tire with excellent handling characteristics. Two rows of central blocks increase directional stability and provide a quick response to steering wheel turns. Three deep channels quickly remove water and dirt from the tread, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
In the shoulder area, there are deep grooves that increase stability when cornering. Optimally located tread blocks have made it possible to increase the contact patch, which has had a positive effect on stability and handling. The combination of an optimized tread pattern and new additives in the rubber compound has made it possible to reduce rolling resistance, ensuring fuel savings while driving. The increased tread depth has provided excellent handling qualities throughout the entire service life.
New rubber compound
When creating the rubber compound, new additives were used that made it possible to improve the operational characteristics of the tread. The high silica content has increased traction on wet road surfaces. The use of silicon in the rubber compound has increased the wear resistance of the tread, providing an extended service life.
