Lamellen and Wear Control
The entire working surface of the tread is saturated with a network of numerous lamellae. In combination with an elastic rubber compound of a special composition, they form an adaptive traction system. When contacting a wet surface, the lamellae open, creating thousands of microscopic edges for guaranteed traction and safe braking. On dry asphalt, the lamellae "close", preserving the integrity of the block and minimizing deformation of the tread, which directly optimizes rolling resistance and fuel consumption.
The blocks in the most loaded shoulder areas are not independent. They are connected to each other by special transverse reinforcing ribs, forming a single rigid structure.
