The tread has a large number of lamellas of different depths and shapes. Due to this, the tire has excellent coupling properties on wet and dry surfaces, allowing for complete control of the steering when driving in any weather. The joint work of lamellas and five longitudinal grooves ensures the maximum rapid removal of water from the tread, preventing possible aquaplaning.
Optimal block arrangement
The specially developed tread has optimally located blocks that allowed us to obtain excellent operational characteristics. The use of central blocks in conjunction with a new rubber compound made it possible to achieve a maximum contact patch and, consequently, more confident control and increased stability on the road surface. The specially selected distance between the blocks and their shape prevents the jamming of stones, while increasing the passability, manageability, and safety of movement. Also, the blocks are characterized by increased wear resistance, which is very important when crossing long distances at a constant speed. As you can see, the model has not only excellent manageability and stability but also a longer service life.
Carcass and shoulder area of the tread
The carcass of the Pirelli TH85 tire is made of special rubberized cord, which not only increases the strength of the tire but also provides rapid recoverability. The shoulder area of the tread has massive blocks that, together with the reinforced carcass, prevent possible damage and increase stability when cornering. This tire minimizes sudden damage, providing increased safety while driving.
Rubber compound
Pirelli constantly works on improving the rubber compound from which the tread is made, adding various new additives to it. The rubber compound used in this case also has special additives that increase the coupling characteristics, increase the wear resistance, and extend the life of the tire.
Dual-layer rubber
When creating a tire, a unique two-layer technology of the company is used, as a result of which the tread consists of two layers of rubber with different characteristics. The upper layer has certain properties that prevent wear and at the same time provide maximum coupling. The lower layer is characterized by increased elasticity, preventing possible overheating of the tire during movement, as a result of which it has an increased service life.
