Description Normaks ND102
The commercial model Normaks ND102 was created as a universal solution for haulers involved in highway transportation. It combines the tread pattern, composition, and carcass to provide predictable vehicle behavior on any surface.
Architecture of the multifunctional tread
The tread is built on a multi-block scheme, but the key innovation is hidden inside each element. Each block features cross-shaped lamellas that remain virtually unnoticed in dry weather, without reducing the block's stiffness. However, when in contact with a wet surface, they open up, forming hundreds of additional gripping edges. This increases the coefficient of grip without losing directional stability.
The central channels have an increased volume - this structure prevents clogging with dirt, and the created vacuum effect actively "sucks out" water from the contact area.
Handling in turns
The shoulder blocks are connected by transverse "stiffness bridges" - this is a forceful framework that prevents deformation of the sidewall when entering a sharp turn. On the steering axle, such reinforcement is necessary to avoid the "folding" effect - when the rubber twists, and the driver loses feedback. The bridges also reduce uneven wear on the edges of the tread, extending the service life.
Thermal regulation
The deep network of channels and lamellas performs another important function - it works as a system of active cooling. Air flows passing through the tread carry away excess heat. This prevents overheating of the carcass and separation of the tread layer, which is especially relevant at high summer temperatures. At the same time, the channels self-clean from small gravel and dirt, maintaining a constant contact area.
Key features of Normaks ND102:
- optimized for handling and stabilization of haulers and trucks on long highways, where response accuracy is critical;
- multi-block pattern with active lamellas provides reliable braking and traction on dry and wet pavement;
- reduced rolling resistance due to an optimized polymer matrix provides noticeable fuel savings;
- developed drainage network instantly removes water and hot air, maintaining stable properties in any weather;
- blocks with "bridges" prevent deformation during maneuvering and guarantee even wear across the entire tread width.
