Depending on the size, the Nokian NTR45 truck tire can be used on the driving axles of trucks and buses that operate both in the city and on highways. For city use, sizes with a rim diameter of 17.5 inches are intended, and for intercity and interregional transportation - 22.5 inches.
Open tread pattern
A characteristic feature of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern is the presence of an increased number of individual blocks of a quadrangular shape. This technical solution made it possible to provide the Nokian NTR45 tire with a number of very important advantages. First of all, the large number of blocks forms a multitude of sharp edges, which ensures excellent traction and coupling characteristics, especially on slippery surfaces. In addition, such a pattern structure made it possible to achieve a more even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, thereby ensuring the durability of the tread to uneven wear, extending the life of the tire. Another advantage is the formation, with the help of blocks, of six longitudinal ribs, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent directional stability.
Excellent off-road capabilities
Despite the obvious highway orientation, this model demonstrates confident behavior off the road with a hard surface. In addition to the numerous tread blocks, the tire has drainage channels equipped with special "stone removers". Thanks to them, it was possible to achieve excellent self-cleaning characteristics of the tread.
