Multifunctional tread pattern
As mentioned earlier, this tire is characterized by its versatility, which is largely due to the design features of the tread pattern, many elements of which perform several functions at once. First and foremost, these are drainage grooves, the profile of the walls and bottom of which allows for the removal not only of water and snow but also of stones. This ability largely determines the high reliability of this model.
"Double wave" and "water drop" lamellas
Like Michelin's passenger car winter models, the tread of this tire is equipped with two types of lamellas that are cut into all blocks without exception. The "double wave" lamellas have a wavy shape to their walls, which prevents the lamellas from closing when in contact with the road, while limiting the mobility of the blocks. In turn, the "water drop" lamellas function in a similar way to windshield wipers, "sweeping" and directing water into the nearby drainage grooves.
