The commercial tire Michelin X Multi D is part of the major update of truck models conducted by the French manufacturer quite recently. It is designed for medium-tonnage trucks and medium-capacity buses, where it can be installed on the driving axle. In addition, this model differs from its predecessors in better fuel efficiency and increased service life.
Durability
The prolonged service life of this tire is ensured by a number of innovations in the design of the carcass and the composition of the rubber compound. According to the results of tests in transport companies, this allows increasing the mileage by up to 6 months compared to the previous model. Such an impressive increase was achieved largely due to the carcass. Its more robust design allows the tread to be retreaded at least twice. After each such procedure, the mileage increases by at least a quarter. As for the rubber compound, a number of new components have appeared in its composition. With their help, not only the resistance to wear has been increased, but also the strength of the tread on rupture has been improved.
Traction characteristics throughout the entire "life cycle" of the tire
Another distinctive feature of this model is the stability of its traction characteristics throughout the entire period of operation. This was achieved due to the increased depth of the lugs. Each of the tread blocks contains several such elements. Due to their numerousness, this model demonstrates excellent longitudinal grip properties on any slippery roads.
