Universal tread pattern
When developing this tire, the company's specialists faced a rather difficult task of ensuring reliable traction on various types of surfaces. That's why they preferred to equip this model with an S-shaped tread pattern, which has universal characteristics. However, taking into account the specifics of operation on trucks, the tread design has undergone a number of changes.
In particular, the tread pattern of the Matador DM1 Power M+S contains only two functional parts - a longitudinal rib located right in the center and two shoulder zones. The minimum number of tread elements made it possible to significantly increase their size, which provided the tire with a number of advantages. First of all, these are the maximum dimensions of the contact patch, which made it possible to provide excellent traction on dry pavement, as well as resistance to uneven wear due to a more even distribution of load on it.
All functional zones consist of many separate blocks, which form a multitude of edges. Thanks to their multidirectional arrangement, the tire demonstrates excellent traction when moving on loose and rocky soils. At the same time, the large height of the blocks, combined with the multi-layered structure of the carcass, guarantee excellent protection of the tire from punctures and cuts.
