In the first case, "help" comes from the large size of the contact patch, which is ensured by the massive longitudinal ribs, and in the second case, a number of other design features are added to this. First and foremost, this is a multitude of longitudinal and transverse lamellas, which, when in contact with the road surface, form additional traction edges. At the same time, their wavy shape provides a denser fixation of the sidewalls to each other, which keeps the tire's other working characteristics at the initial level.
