The central part of the tread consists of two longitudinal ribs, representing a corresponding number of rows of individual blocks. They have a trapezoidal shape, which provides a huge number of coupling edges in all directions at any given time. In addition, these tread elements have massive dimensions, which made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch area.
Increased carrying capacity and resistance to uneven wear
In contrast to the central part, the shoulder zones of the tread are a solid element without any breaks throughout its length. This design of the shoulder zones gave the tire a number of important advantages. First of all, it is a more even distribution of external pressure over the contact patch. This allowed the tire to withstand operation with a large load created by the transported cargo without any problems. In addition, it led to an increase in resistance to uneven wear, which significantly extended the life of the tire.
