This model is equipped with a symmetrical non-directional tread pattern, the design of which is perfectly optimized for use on both the steering and driving axles of a truck or bus. Excellent traction on dry and wet roads
The central part of the tread pattern of the Hankook AH22 model is occupied by three longitudinal ribs of equal size. Each of them contains a multitude of straight lamellas, which, when in contact with the road surface, form very long transverse zigzag-shaped traction edges. At the same time, the lamellas are cut through the entire depth of the tread, thanks to which the tire retains its initial traction properties throughout its entire service life.
It is also worth noting the presence of a very efficient drainage system, the effectiveness of which is ensured by four longitudinal grooves. Their volume is quite sufficient to remove even a very significant amount of water from the tread, thereby keeping the contact patch dry. At the same time, there are special stone ejectors at the bottom of the grooves, which do not allow the tread pattern to become clogged with stones and other solid foreign objects.
Low rolling resistance and long service life
During the development of this model, great importance was attached to the indicators of durability and rolling resistance. They were able to make them very high due to a number of changes in the design of the carcass, sidewalls, and tread pattern.
The carcass design has been significantly strengthened due to the breaker layer, which has been significantly increased in size, allowing for the creation of a very rigid base for the tread. As a result, it has become much better at resisting dynamic deformation that occurs during movement. With similar goals, the deformability of the sidewalls has been increased, which, due to their strengthening, have become much more rigid.
