Goodyear Omnitrac MST II truck tires are designed for installation on trailers and semi-trailers, which operate both on highways and off roads with solid pavement. This model is distinguished by its durability and highest efficiency, which allows it to solve any tasks even on off-road terrain. The tire is released in two sizes – 385/65R22.5 and 445/65R22.5.
The S-shaped symmetrical non-directional tread pattern design was developed by specialists from the research center of the North American company, located in Luxembourg. The tread pattern features four longitudinal ribs, the central ones of which are particularly massive in size. All longitudinal ribs of the Goodyear Omnitrac MST II tire are separated from each other by three longitudinal drainage grooves. The central groove, in this case, has a wavy profile, formed by the configuration of tread blocks that make up both longitudinal ribs in the central part. The longitudinal groove and sharp edges of the tread blocks provide excellent traction on any type of surface, especially on loose soils. When driving off roads with solid pavement, the rigid construction and massive size of the tread blocks allow for a significant reduction in the risk of cuts or punctures. It is also worth noting the arrangement of all tread elements with a variable step in relation to each other, which significantly reduced the noise level.
Unlike many competitors, this model has undergone two-year tests together with the largest European transport companies. The tests represented real operation, in which the new tire was directly compared to both the previous model and one of the tire products of a competing brand. As a result of the tests, this model significantly outperformed both competitors, including in terms of fuel efficiency and durability.
Main features of the Goodyear Omnitrac MST II truck tire
- A new rubber compound developed using Omnitrac Max Technology has significantly increased the tread's resistance to aggressive external influences;
- Excellent self-cleaning properties of the tread, due to the equipping of the tread with a multitude of blocks and a large distance between them;
- Low noise level, thanks to the arrangement of blocks with a variable step;
- Rigid shoulder areas have significantly improved the tread's resistance to uneven wear;
- Excellent traction, especially off-road, is provided by the high profile and deep relief of the tread pattern.
