Doublestar DSR128
Description Doublestar DSR128
The Doublestar DSR128 cargo tire is designed for installation on the trailer axles of trucks used for intercity and interregional transportation. The design of this model is ideally suited for significant time and distance mileage, as well as for prolonged high-speed driving. Additionally, it is favorably distinguished by low acquisition and operating costs, making its use even more economically advantageous.
Multi-ribbed tread design
One of the distinctive features of the Doublestar DSR128 tire is the tread pattern, which contains a number of original technical solutions. One of them is the presence of five longitudinal ribs, three of which, located in the central part, have a composite structure.
Using longitudinal and transverse lamellas, cut through the entire depth of the tread pattern, these elements are divided into a large number of separate blocks. Thanks to this, the contact patch has a multitude of transverse and longitudinal edges at any given time, which significantly improves traction, especially when driving on wet roads.
At the same time, both longitudinal and transverse lamellas have a wavy and zigzag shape. This feature allows their walls to be reliably fixed to each other when in contact with the road surface, which significantly increases the stiffness of the longitudinal rib. This allows the tire to demonstrate excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance.
Reinforced shoulder areas of the tread
Unlike the three central ribs, the shoulder areas of the tread are distinguished by increased dimensions and a reinforced structure. Such a design made it possible not only to increase the contact patch area but also to give it a practically rectangular shape, which contributed to a significant improvement in a number of the tire's main operational characteristics. First and foremost, this is traction on dry roads and resistance to uneven wear.
Key features of Doublestar DSR128
- the tire is designed for installation on trailer axles of trucks;
- a multitude of transverse and longitudinal lamellas in the central part of the tread increases the effectiveness of braking and directional stability without compromising other main working characteristics of the tire;
- the reinforced structure of the shoulder areas has increased the contact patch size and improved resistance to uneven wear.
