First and foremost, it is a rubber compound, the composition of which contains components that significantly increase the strength of the tread on tearing and stretching. This ensures resistance to both wear and mechanical damage.
Another factor that largely determines the long mileage of the tire before replacement is the tread profile. Its shape is optimized to maximize the size of the contact area with the road. Its shape is close to square, which achieves an even distribution of load across the entire road surface. This noticeably reduces the aggressiveness of the abrasive effect on the tread, slowing down its wear rate.
Reliable behavior on wet pavement
The longitudinal ribs of the tread are separated from each other by wide and deep grooves. Their significant internal volume allows for the almost instantaneous removal of a large amount of water from the contact area. Additional resistance to aquaplaning is provided by numerous wavy lamellas. They direct moisture from under the contact patch to the drainage grooves, thereby drying it.
