Description Doublecoin RSD3
Doublecoin RSD3 – a model that was created not as a compromise, but as a functional hybrid, where every element of the tread pattern solves two tasks at once. Designed for the drive axles of heavy-duty trucks, this tyre demonstrates confident behaviour on loose soils, snowy slush, and wet asphalt, without sacrificing speed stability and fuel efficiency.
Block tread pattern
Unlike classic "road" tyres with longitudinal grooves, a architecture of separate elements is used here. At first glance, it's a typical off-road tread pattern. But the engineering nuance lies in their arrangement: the blocks are offset and partially overlap each other in the longitudinal direction. When rolling on a solid surface, they work like continuous "ribs". The contact patch becomes almost monolithic, without significant gaps. This drastically reduces vibration and noise, and most importantly, reduces block deformations, lowering rolling resistance.
Polyhedral geometry of blocks
Take a look at the shape of the tread elements. They are far from simple rectangles – a complex polyhedral configuration with an increased number of sharp edges is used here. These edges are functional "teeth" that, when the wheel rotates, dig into the loose medium (sand, gravel, snow) at different angles.
The effect of such a design is twofold:
- the traction force increases due to the fact that there are always several edges oriented perpendicular to the direction of movement, which is critical when starting uphill or on loose soil;
- thanks to the variable geometry of the blocks, dirt and snow do not get stuck in the inter-block space, but are thrown out by the action of centrifugal force.
Key features of Doublecoin RSD3:
- the block tread pattern creates the effect of a continuous "rib" on a solid surface, reducing rolling resistance and wear while maintaining full-fledged traction;
- the increased number of sharp edges provides excellent grip on loose and snowy soils, improving traction on the drive axle in difficult conditions;
- the flat profile of the tread optimizes the distribution of contact pressure, increasing the contact area and slowing down uneven wear;
- versatility of application – it works stably both on high-speed highways and off-road, making it an optimal choice for mixed routes.
