All-season truck tire Continental HDR has a somewhat unique, especially for our country, scope of application. The fact is that this model was specially created for pickups, which, according to North American terminology, belong to the Heavy Duty category. Their cargo-passenger capabilities are much closer to medium-duty trucks than to passenger cars. Another key feature of this model is that it is designed for use on the driving axle, as evidenced by its name. The HDR abbreviation stands for Heavy Drive Regional. In other words, this tire was developed for use on highways. At the same time, the non-steering axle should be equipped with the HSR model (Heavy Steer Regional).
Excellent traction in any conditions
Since the Continental HDR model was initially developed with consideration of the specific operating conditions on the rear axle, it is not surprising that its symmetrical non-directional tread pattern contains a very large number of traction edges. They are formed by numerous blocks, as well as lamellas of curved shape cut through the entire depth of the tread. At the same time, a significant part of them is located transversely, which provides the tire with high performance, both when accelerating and braking.
Excellent directional stability
The aforementioned blocks have a rectangular shape, located parallel to the direction of movement. This design provides excellent directional stability, and in addition, reduced rolling resistance, which gives the tire good fuel efficiency.
