Maxxis BigHorn 2.0
Description Maxxis BigHorn 2.0
This model was created based on the legendary Bighorn tire and was developed on its basis. The key difference from the popular predecessor is the lower weight. At the same time, the developers managed to avoid deterioration of the main operational characteristics, including strength, which favorably distinguished the previous Bighorn from most competitors.
Two versions
Since this model is designed for Side-by-Side quad bikes, it's no surprise that it's offered by the Asian manufacturer in two versions. The tire with the factory index MU09 is designed for installation on the front axle, and MU10 - for the rear axle. The main difference between the two versions is the width of the tread. The front tires have a narrower tread, which provides better directional stability and handling, while the rear tires have a wider tread that improves longitudinal traction and adhesion properties.
Lightweight carcass
The majority of the weight reduction, by which the Maxxis BigHorn 2.0 model favorably differs from its legendary predecessor, is due to the developers' refusal to use a steel cord. Instead, they used modern synthetic materials that are not inferior to the previously used steel wires in their physical properties, but are many times lighter. In combination with the use of seamless winding technology, this made it possible to give the tire excellent strength and resistance to any mechanical impact, as well as greater smoothness on the move.
Optimized rubber compound
In addition to the carcass design, the rubber compound composition has undergone significant changes. It features special functional polymer compounds. Their main functional purpose is to ensure the integrity of the tread. By giving the intermolecular bonds greater strength, they provide the rubber compound with increased resistance to tearing, which in turn has a positive effect on the reliability of the tire when operating off-road.
Productive in any conditions tread pattern
The only component that remained almost unchanged is the tread pattern, which, with the exception of some features, was completely "borrowed" from the previous model. In essence, this is "work on errors", which made it possible to significantly improve a number of operational properties of the tire, primarily longitudinal traction and adhesion properties. The tread, due to the change in the shape and arrangement of the blocks, contains more gripping edges. At the same time, they are arranged in such a way that when in contact with the road surface, they demonstrate maximum efficiency.
Key features of Maxxis BigHorn 2.0:
- created based on the legendary BigHorn;
- low weight due to the use of a carcass made entirely of synthetic materials;
- universal tread pattern provides the tire with high performance on any type of road surface;
- excellent reliability and smoothness on the move due to a compound that is resistant to external influences and retains elasticity even at low temperatures.
