History of formation

In May 2018, Great Wall announced the creation of a new brand, specifically for a new line of passenger electric vehicles. Initially, it consisted of two models - the iQ5 crossover and the R1 city compact. The first cars were delivered to customers in August 2018. In June of the following year, the brand's product line expanded with the addition of the R2, a compact hatchback designed for use primarily in urban environments. However, the first examples of this model rolled off the assembly line only in July 2020. During the same period, the word "Cat" appeared in the name of the brand's cars. It was borrowed from the famous quote by Deng Xiaoping "it doesn't matter whether the cat is white or black, as long as it can catch mice, it's a good cat". Currently, the brand's products are available in European countries, Australia, South Africa, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Model range

Today, the brand's product line includes three models - Good Cat, Ballet Cat, and Lightning Cat. Among them, the Ballet Cat stands out with its memorable exterior, which has much in common with the classic VW Beetle. The 5-door hatchback, although primarily oriented towards women, has non-trivial characteristics. In its most dynamic version, the car has four-wheel drive and a power output of 544 horsepower. The other model from the brand, the mid-size sedan Lightning Cat, is slightly slower. Its four-wheel drive version has a power output of 402 horsepower, but at the same time, it has a significantly longer range of up to 705 km. The base model in the line is the Good Cat - a 5-door city compact that is only offered with front-wheel drive and two engine options with a power output of 143 or 171 horsepower.
