Periods of formation

The company entered the automotive business with the sports model JS2 with a mid-engine layout and V6 engines from Ford and Maserati. It sold quite well due to its good power-to-weight ratio. Ligier's advantage was the presence in its product line of vehicles that did not require a driver's license to operate. In this segment, the company dominated the European market.

Currently, Ligier's product line consists of microcars. Most models use a 2-cylinder diesel engine produced by the Italian company Lombardini.
