The Jetta automobile brand belongs to a Chinese joint venture established by Volkswagen and FAW. The brand was founded in 2019 to promote the German automaker's passenger car models in the Chinese market. All products are produced at the FAW-Volkswagen plant in Chengdu.

History

As mentioned earlier, this automobile brand was founded in 2019 as part of an agreement to establish a joint venture between FAW and Volkswagen. In 2020, it was announced that plans were in place to export automotive products produced at the Chengdu assembly plant beyond mainland China. One of the sales markets was Russia.

Model Range

The brand's product line currently consists of three models - the BA3 sedan and the BC5 and BC7 crossovers. All cars were designed by Volkswagen in Germany. The BA3 sedan is a modification of the VW Jetta and uses the same platform as the Seat Toledo 4th generation. In turn, the BC5 and BC7 crossovers are based on the Seat Ateca, Skoda Karoq, and VW Tharu. All models use 1.4-1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engines of the EA211 series. The transmission range consists of a 7-speed robotic DSG, a 6-speed classic "automatic", and a mechanical 5-speed gearbox.
