The automobile brand belonged to the Chinese company GAC-Nio New Energy Technology, a joint venture between GAC Group, GAC Aion, and Nio Inc. Its products are passenger electric vehicles of various classes.

History

The company GAC-Nio New Energy Technology was established on April 10, 2018. Almost a year later, on April 1, 2019, the partners of the joint venture GAC and Nio announced the launch of a new brand Hycan and the release of a crossover with an electric powertrain under this brand. It became the model 007, which was presented on May 20 of the same year as a concept. In early 2021, there was a redistribution of shares in the joint venture. Among the project's investors was the Chinese company Guangdong Pearl River Investment Management Group, which bought out a large part of Nio's share, which in 2022 withdrew from the list of shareholders of the joint venture. Also in 2021, it received its current name - Hycan.

Model Range

The 2019 concept of the debut model 007 was launched into mass production with virtually no changes, becoming the "locomotive" of the brand's sales. This is a mid-size crossover with an acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h from 7.9 to 8.3 seconds. The range, depending on the version, is from 520 to 640 km. In the GAC lineup, it has a "twin" in the form of the Aion LX, which differs slightly in terms of equipment. A similar situation has developed with another model of the brand - the compact crossover Z03, which also exists in the form of the Aion Y and has been produced since April 2021. Further, the brand's model range continued to expand, with the addition of the mid-size sedan A06 and the minivan V09. One of the interesting features of all Hycan brand cars is the presence of a "smart assistant". Its development was handled by Nio, a company specializing in software development for "smart homes". The "Little Kan" system with voice control can activate the navigation system, control music, adjust the climate control, open and close windows, and perhaps the most unusual - take selfies of passengers in the car. Additionally, the list of notifications includes information about the need to replace tires in case of damage.
