History

The GAC ChuanQi automotive brand was launched in December 2010. However, the construction of the plant where the production of this brand was supposed to be produced began much earlier, in 2008. The first 500 cars were provided to the organizing committee of the Asian Games in October of the same year, before the official start of sales. The GAC ChuanQi GS5 crossover, also created on the Alfa Romeo 166 platform, was launched into serial production in March 2012.

In 2013, the brand expanded its product line with the segment of compact sedans. In April, at the Shanghai Auto Show, the GAC ChuanQi GA3 was presented. Over the next few years, the brand continued to expand its product line, presenting models of crossovers and minivans. Some modifications of the new models were "hybrids".
