History

Fisker Automotive was founded in 2007. Its co-founder, Henrik Fisker, participated in the development of cars such as the Aston Martin DB9/V8 Vantage, being the head of the design department of the British manufacturer and a member of its board of directors. He left Aston Martin in 2005, trying to create a car manufacturing company with Bernhard Koehler, using Mercedes-Benz SL and BMW 6-series chassis and powertrains to produce cars to customer specifications. The business was not very successful and quickly gave way to a project to produce cars "from scratch".

Model Range

The Fisker car brand was created to produce one model - the Karma, a luxury sports sedan with a hybrid powertrain. The car had problems throughout its production. The first deliveries were scheduled for 2009, but in fact, they took place in November 2011. This was due to problems with batteries from A123 Systems, which had a capacity of 20.1 kWh. In turn, the aluminum space frame was the company's own design and was produced by the Norwegian company Norsk Hydro. The development of the EVer transmission system was handled by Quantum Technologies, a co-founder and one of the first investors in Fisker. The result of this collaboration was a very dynamic sedan with a range of around 370 km. It demonstrates maximum efficiency when using tires that match its characteristics.
