Tires on Eagle (Еагле)
The Eagle car brand belonged to Chrysler after the company purchased American Motor Corporation in 1987. The brand targeted driving enthusiasts and positioned its cars as more "European" than the parent company's models.History
Chrysler "borrowed" the brand name from the all-wheel drive AMC Eagle station wagons, introduced in 1980. This was the last of the American Motors models fully designed in the US, and was one of the first mass-produced crossovers. The brand name was also used on some trim levels of Jeep SUVs and pickups, starting in 1976. It was the desire to gain control over this brand that was a key motivator for Chrysler's acquisition of AMC. And it was this circumstance that forced the North American manufacturer to acquire several restrictions along with Jeep. Their source was Renault, which at that time was actively cooperating with AMC, using the American company as a partner for joint development and production of cars for the US market. This refers, above all, to the AMC Premier sedan based on the Renault 25, which Chrysler was forced to produce further. And it turned out to be beneficial for them, as this car became the basis for the creation of the LH model, which was extremely successful on the North American market. Another restriction was the state legislation where AMC was registered. Chrysler could not sell Jeep through the existing dealership network, and former American Motor dealers could not sell Chrysler cars. The establishment of the Eagle brand allowed to bypass this restriction.Elimination of the brand
Throughout its existence, the Eagle car brand needed greater recognition of its models. At the same time, many of them were technically more advanced than the cars offered by Chrysler. This was compounded by the financial difficulties of the North American manufacturer in the late 1980s, the lack of resources to expand another division. At the same time, Jeep, on the other hand, was much more popular, so most of the resources were directed to the promotion of this brand's lineup. Dealers acted in a similar way, considering the Eagle model lineup a distraction for their business. The brand ceased to exist gradually, as the life cycle of the models was completed. In September 1997, it was announced that the sale of Eagle cars would be discontinued, at the same time the last Eagle Talon rolled off the assembly line. Nevertheless, models of this brand were released under other brands. In particular, the Dodge Intrepid and Chrysler Concorde, which were the Eagle Vision, were produced until 2004. And a few months after the announcement of the brand's elimination, the last car that Eagle worked on, the Chrysler 300M, entered the market. This model, judging by the sales of tires for it in our online store, is quite popular in our country, despite its age.Advantages of selecting tires for Eagle on our website
