History

The debut model of this brand is the Baojun 630, a four-door compact sedan. Its production was established in 2010. Although it did not resemble GM concern cars, the press repeatedly expressed the opinion that it is based on the Daewoo Lacetti platform. In 2014, cooperation with the North American auto giant became more evident when a joint venture reached full capacity, and the Baojun Lechi became available on the Chinese market. This is a localized copy of the well-known Daewoo Matiz in our country. In the same year, the manufacturer announced the Baojun 610, which is a version of the 630th model, executed in the form of a compact hatchback, as well as the Baojun 730, a seven-seat minivan. In 2015, the model range continued the trend of expansion. It included the Baojun 560, the first compact crossover in the brand's history. All cars were warmly received in the domestic Chinese market. In 2017, production volumes nearly exceeded one million units.
