ZC Rubber has developed a range of tires for electric trucks

On July 27 in Chengdu, China, a presentation of a new line of tires from ZC Rubber was held, which were developed specifically for electric freight transport and feature increased wear resistance, including uneven wear.

Shen Jinrong, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Zhongce Rubber Group, stated that "the new energy revolution has transformed the automotive industry, and when used on electric trucks, tires are subject to unprecedentedly high requirements." In his words, the unique characteristics of electric vehicles, such as instantly available high torque and increased weight, have become the reason why tire manufacturers are facing new challenges, such as high tire wear and increased likelihood of failure. For this reason, ZC Rubber has developed a new technology that, after 2000 tests and checks, has been brought from concept to mass production and is designed to solve these problems.

The new tires are made using a new composite material that has increased wear resistance by 50% (shoulder wear has been reduced by 60%), while also improving handling by 15%. In addition, the tire design has been modified to increase the resource, and the vulcanization process has been optimized (due to increased steam pressure, the density of vulcanized rubber and its wear resistance increase).

The new line includes tires EV67, EV68, EV69, EV53, EV57, and EV59 for heavy-duty trucks; EV51 and EV63 for commercial vehicles; EV505 and SL368 for mini-trucks; as well as EV61, EV65, and EV65 PRO for buses. ZC Rubber emphasizes that all new tires are also suitable for vehicles with internal combustion engines, which speaks to their versatility.

The new tires have already been adapted for use on models from several automakers, and the presentation of the new tires was attended by Fan Xianjun, CEO of Farizon, Geely's division for the production of freight vehicles, who noted that the company has been cooperating with ZC Rubber for many years and intends to develop the partnership to "launch a new stage of development of the Chinese automotive industry".
