Yokohama launched a new brand for the Chinese market
Yokohama held a presentation of tires under the new brand YUYU Tiger at the racing track in Ningbo, created specifically for the Chinese market and aimed at helping the company strengthen its position in the country against the backdrop of the electrification of the automotive industry.
According to Fan Min, Chairman of the Board of Yokohama China, in recent years, China has become the world's largest market for electric vehicles, and the country is experiencing a high diversity of road conditions and needs of car owners. "As a result, Yokohama has decided to release a special series of tires for the Chinese market," he said. "The launch of the YUYU Tiger brand is not just an expansion of the range, and the products were developed taking into account Chinese road conditions, possible scenarios for use, and the growth of electric car sales".
The new lineup includes three tires of different categories, and for fans of fast driving, the YUYU Tiger-Sport model is intended, whose design and tread stiffness have been optimized to provide fast and accurate responses to steering wheel turns when used on electric vehicles with instantly available torque and increased weight. The tires have a pattern with three wide and one narrow longitudinal grooves (similar design is possessed by Yokohama ADVAN Sport V107), which improves handling on wet and dry asphalt, while the Silent Foam technology reduces noise levels by placing a layer of polyurethane foam in the tire cavity. The fact that the tires are adapted to the characteristics of electric vehicles is signaled by the E+ marking on the sidewalls, and the size range includes 23 positions from 235/45ZR18 to 285/40 R22.
For those who prefer a more relaxed driving style, YUYU Tiger-Comfort tires will be offered, which, according to the company, not only have reduced noise and improved smoothness, but also maintain a high level of comfort throughout their entire life cycle. The third novelty is the YUYU Tiger-GT, designed for those who drive long distances by car, and is characterized by increased durability.
