Yokohama has released new high-comfort summer tires
Japanese Yokohama Rubber started producing tires with the dB designation, indicating reduced noise, almost 30 years ago, and the first model in the family was the Aspec dB, introduced in 1998. In 2000 and 2003, the DNA dB and DNA dB ES501 tires were released, respectively, and in 2009, the line was renamed to ADVAN dB (ADVAN is Yokohama's flagship brand, under which sports tires are released), as the company said, the tires "exceed customer expectations." Currently, on the Russian market, the "low-noise" tire Yokohama of the sixth generation is available under the name ADVAN dB V553, and meanwhile, in China, where drivers traditionally highly value tire comfort, its successor was presented, which was named ADVAN dB 555 - the quartet was skipped because in the country it has negative connotations.

The new tire has an asymmetric tread pattern, and the increased contact patch in the outer zone improves stability in turns and overall handling on dry asphalt, while the larger volume of grooves in the inner section increases safety in rainy weather.

The tread pattern includes four longitudinal channels that drain water from the contact area, and in the ribs, there are lightning-shaped grooves that simultaneously reduce noise and increase controllability and tread wear resistance. In addition to this, arc-shaped grooves (similar to those on the ADVAN dB V551) were added, which also reduce noise and improve handling, while also increasing grip on wet roads. The design of the inner shoulder with 144 blocks is designed, among other things, to increase acoustic comfort, and the closed outer shoulder zone reduces noise and increases tread stiffness, which improves control and extends the life of the tires.

Compared to the previous generation tires, the cavitation noise caused by air vibration in the tire cavity was significantly reduced, and in addition, such parameters as wet braking efficiency, wear resistance, and fuel economy were improved. The tires are also available in versions made using Silentfoam technology and equipped with an additional layer of sound-absorbing foam, which reduces the noise level.

Among other things, the inscriptions on the sidewalls are made in a saturated black color, and the "E+" marking indicates that the tires can work optimally when used on electric vehicles.

In the Chinese market, the new tires are available in sizes with a rim diameter from 18 to 21 inches, designed for both passenger cars and crossovers, including luxury class.
