Yokohama Releases New All-Season Truck Tire

Yokohama Rubber has introduced a new long-haul all-season truck tire, the Yokohama BuEarth 722L, designed to improve fuel efficiency while also providing increased durability, including resistance to uneven wear, which helps reduce transportation company costs.

The tread pattern was taken from the BluEarth 711L tire, which is the most fuel-efficient in Yokohama's lineup of truck tires, and a fuel-saving rubber compound was also used. As a result, the 722L is comparable to the 711L in terms of fuel efficiency, but the manufacturer emphasizes that in terms of durability and performance on wet roads, the new tire surpasses the standard all-season model ZEN 702ZE-i. Additionally, even as the tread wears down, the tire retains large-volume grooves, providing good traction and braking properties on wet surfaces throughout its lifespan.

Yokohama adds that since last November, they have been participating in tests of autonomous truck transportation using the new BuEarth 722L tires.

"As part of strengthening our business in the truck and bus sector, we are accelerating the development of technologies and products for the global market of electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as creating new services and solutions for a more environmentally friendly logistics industry," the company says.

The new tires will be released on the Japanese market in March 2025 in six sizes with diameters ranging from 17.5 to 22.5 inches.
