Yokohama has prepared a winter novelty for Russia

Four years after its premiere in Japan, the company Yokohama, which has not left Russia and continues to produce products at its plant in the Lipetsk region, is bringing to the domestic market the non-studded winter tire Yokohama iceGUARD iG70 (iceGUARD 7), which is the latest development of the Japanese brand in this segment.

The tire has an asymmetric tread pattern with an increased contact patch and a wide central rib, designed, among other things, for faster acceleration and braking on icy surfaces, while large blocks are located in the outer zone of the tread, improving stability when cornering.

In Yokohama, they note that if the iceGUARD iG60 lamellas became thinner during operation, which reduced the level of grip, in the new tires, the slots are given a pyramidal shape, and their width increases by 50% wear, which allows maintaining a high level of traction on ice.

The number of biting edges has also been increased, which has improved performance on snow, while the orange oil in the rubber mixture allows the tires to retain their elasticity for a long time, stabilizing their characteristics.

In sizes with a profile width of 235 mm or more, the name iG70A is used, and on the Japanese market, the tire is available in 128 sizes from 145/80 R13 to 265/35 R21. A full review of the iceGUARD iG70 will be published by the next winter season.
