The network argued over tires for the "Chinese Maybach"

The tires chosen for the new luxurious sedan Maextro S800 Grand Design from Huawei and JAC, priced from 1.6 to 2 million yuan (17-21 million rubles), have sparked a heated discussion in the Chinese segment of the Internet, as the car will be equipped with Arisun 1 EV tires from the local company ZC Rubber. In the opinion of some users, for a car of this class, it would be better to use tires from leading world manufacturers, such as Michelin or Pirelli, but their opponents called this point of view "bowing to foreign brands". They also recalled that 10-15 years ago, the appearance of a Chinese car with such a price tag would have been unthinkable, but now it is a reality, and there is nothing surprising in the fact that tire companies in the country are also producing products of increasingly high quality. Many commentators also expressed support for the brand, which promotes the development of local component suppliers.

The tires for the S800 Grand Design were created to order, as indicated by the HIMA marking on the sidewalls. Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance is an alliance in the automotive industry created by Huawei, and the tires also have the inscription Super Energy-Saving, which means they have reduced rolling resistance. The tires are made in the size 265/40 R21.

Chinese media recalled that last year, Yu Chengdong, the executive director of Huawei, spoke about the fact that Maextro is not just a high-class car, and in fact, the project has great significance, as it has contributed to the technological development of 221 component suppliers from more than ten provinces of the country. According to Yu, the production of cars in this price category requires new technologies and materials, and working with local suppliers "increases the overall potential of the Chinese automotive industry".

The Arisun 1 EV tire, presented in 2022, is designed specifically for vehicles with new energy sources (the S800 Grand Design will be available in hybrid and electric versions) and has standard features for this segment, such as reduced noise levels and improved energy efficiency.
