In Russia, tire pyrolysis with fuel production has been approved

The expert commission of the state environmental review (SER) has approved the use of low-temperature pyrolysis for processing old tires and plastic waste into diesel fuel and purified gas, and in the first stage, the technology will be implemented in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, reports URA.RU with reference to the press service of the IntertechElectro group of companies.

"The commissioning of the waste processing complex using the pyrolysis method will solve the long-standing problem of the existence of the largest tire dump in Russia near Nizhnevartovsk and will improve the environmental situation in the okrug," the company noted.

It is also reported that the problem of processing tires and plastics in the KhMAO is being solved as part of a program to modernize the housing and utilities sector and improve the environmental situation under the leadership of the head of the region, Ruslan Kukharkuk.

Low-temperature pyrolysis (decomposition of tires without access to air) allows for the disposal of used tires and other waste without prior preparation, and experts note that the resulting products do not contain highly toxic substances, and harmful emissions meet Russian environmental standards.

The equipment for processing waste by low-temperature pyrolysis is produced by the Kurgan plant of complex technologies, which is part of the IntertechElectro group.
