The Dunlop brand lineup has added a new winter tire

The European market has introduced a new tire, Dunlop Winter, designed for warm winters, i.e., optimized to increase traction on roads covered with water or snow. The EV Ready marking on the sidewalls indicates that the tire, like other Dunlop models, is suitable for use on electric vehicles, and the lightweight construction (with a reduction of up to 1 kg) reduces the range of electric vehicles and fuel consumption of vehicles with internal combustion engines.

The tires are equipped with a system of lamellas that help the tread blocks "bite" into the snow and reduce the braking distance, while the transverse edges of the lugs improve controllability on wet roads by displacing water from the contact patch.

Dunlop Winter will be available in 69 sizes with diameters from 15 to 21 and is intended for the mass market, as well as for compact city cars. The novelty is part of the updated brand line, along with the all-season Dunlop All Season 2, presented last year.

"Dunlop Winter is the latest addition to our optimized line, and the tire is designed to make drivers feel confident in various winter conditions," noted Sonia Leneve, Director of Marketing for Consumer Tires at Goodyear EMEA, adding that "technical improvements will help improve the driving experience on snowy and wet roads."

Soon, Goodyear will sell the rights to the Dunlop brand to the Japanese Sumitomo.
