In Kirov, the first year of the master's program in tire technology has been completed

The Scientific and Technical Center "Intair" (part of the "Cordiant" holding) and Vyatka State University (VSU) have summed up the results of the first year of the joint master's program "Tire Production Technology".

The program was launched in September 2024 for current employees of the STC with the aim of improving the level of knowledge of specialists involved in the development of recipes for rubber compounds and tire designs of the holding, which currently combines five production sites in Kirov, Omsk, Yaroslavl, and Kaluga.

According to the company, during the first year of study, students received practice-oriented knowledge and skills, as well as performed educational tasks similar to industrial ones. Currently, master's theses are being prepared on topics related to the impact of rubber compound ingredients and design parameters on the operational characteristics of tires.

"The key differences in the content of the first year of the master's program were that we focused the masters on the peculiarities of obtaining and properties of materials for tires, the structure of rubbers, methods of analysis, and production equipment," said Dmitry Golubev, director of the STC "Intair". - As part of the second year of study, students will delve into numerical analysis methods, mathematical modeling, and special approaches in tire rubber recipe development".

It is also reported that many students "have already shown themselves as potential developers of new technologies and actively participated in solving current industry problems", and upon completion of their master's degree, their professional competence will include modeling and design methods, techniques for managing raw materials and properties, recipes for rubber compounds, as well as engineering and optimization of technologies for tire production.
