In CRPT named the most popular tire brands in the Russian market

In January-October 2024, car tire sales on the Russian market grew by 11% compared to the same period last year, with passenger car tires accounting for 91.5% of total sales, according to Autonews.ru citing data from CRPT (operator of the "Honest Sign" labeling system)

According to analysts, the most popular tire brand for the reporting period was the Finnish Nordman (after Nokian Tyres left Russia, Nordman tires are produced by Ikon Tyres, which will gradually replace its mid-range offering with the Ikon Character line). Nordman's share was 12.8%, followed by domestic Cordiant and Kama (7.8 and 6.5%, respectively).

The top 10 most in-demand brands also include:

Viatti — 5.5%;

Pirelli — 5.1%;

Formula — 4.4%;

Yokohama — 3.7%;

Belshina — 3.7%;

Sailun — 3.6%;

Triangle — 3.3%.

Among the federal districts, the Siberian Federal District became the leader in terms of the number of passenger car tires sold, with 31 tires per 1,000 people. Among the regions, the Kamchatka Krai took the first place, with a rate of 75 tires per 1,000 people.

Studded winter tires were most popular in the Ural Federal District — 25 tires per 1,000 residents, and friction tires — in the Far Eastern Federal District (21 tires per 1,000 people).

According to experts, "the growth in tire sales in 2024 confirms the market's adaptation to current conditions, and local brands continue to occupy confident positions, competing with foreign manufacturers. Additionally, regional demand characteristics indicate a significant influence of climatic conditions on the choice of automotive tires."
